Crop Progress Report for the Week of October 15, 2019

Corn dented is at 96% this week and expected to reach 100% by next week.  Only WI is reporting under 90% dented at 84%.  Corn mature is at 73% overall and no new states are reporting 100% mature.  Harvest is at 22% overall and all states are now in harvest.  NC and TN are closest to being done at over 92% harvested.  IA, MN, MO, ND, SD, and WI are all under 10% harvested.

Soybeans dropping leaves are at 85% overall.  Most states are over 80% dropping with WI, OH, and MO under 80%.  Soy harvest is at 26% overall; AR, LA, MS, and TN are over 50% harvested.

Cotton bolls opening are at 87% overall and LA is reporting 100% opened this week.  Cotton harvest is at 32% overall and KS has not started harvest yet.  Progress for cotton harvest is ahead of previous years.

Sorghum mature is at 81% and TX is reporting the most progress at 96% mature.  Sorghum harvest is at 40% overall, KS, NE, and SD are under 20% harvested.

Peanut harvest is at 55% overall; ahead of previous years.  TX is the only state under 20% harvested and AL, FL, and VA are reporting over 70% harvested.

Sugarbeet harvest is at 30% overall with MI the only state under 30% harvested.

Sunflower harvest is at 5% harvested where SD has not started harvest yet.

Rice harvest is at 87% overall and TX is reporting harvest finished this week.
